About Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency
The Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency (SERDA) is a non-profit limited liability company governed by public law. SERDA promotes development and entrepreneurship, provides services based on knowledge, innovative creative approach. SERDA is highly experienced in initialization and implementation of different projects and activities through all phases of development, testing and realisation, particularly projects from EU funded programmes. So far, SERDA has implemented many projects in the areas of business development and SME support, education, environmental protection, green energy and transition, tourism, infrastructure, agriculture, culture, etc.
Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency's role in the project
SERDA, through the BIOFIN project, will use the Mojmilo Urban Forest in Sarajevo as a learning site, which will be equipped with IoT sensors (measuring air pollution, light & sound pollution, meteorological data, etc.) to capture data linked to nature-based solutions development. The main challenge for this learning site will be how to integrate private finance into nature-based solutions that reduce air pollution and increase amenity value.
