Webinar #2 – Financing instruments for nature-positive water-related investments

This webinar will build on the discussions initiated in the first session, which focused on economic valuation and willingness to pay for water-related investments (see the video here). While economic valuation can help demonstrate the benefits of nature-positive water-related projects and actions, further work is needed to translate this evidence into viable financing strategies and investment-ready proposals.
The webinar will explore how financing instruments can support the development, structuring and implementation of nature-positive water-related investments, with particular attention to their relevance for Water-Oriented Living Labs and applied innovation contexts. Contributions from BIOFIN-EU will address key aspects related to financing mechanisms for biodiversity and Nature-based Solutions, including the role of water-related revenue streams in supporting nature-positive investments. The session is also expected to include practical insights on existing financing opportunities and upcoming initiatives linked to the European Water Resilience Strategy.
The final agenda and confirmed speakers will be shared in due course.
This second webinar will provide a valuable opportunity to further explore how financial instruments can support the development of more robust, well-structured and investment-ready water-related actions, while fostering exchange across the participant networks on how to address financing challenges and mobilise support for implementation.
